2012 Brit-designed single-seat racer Price
2012 Brit-designed single-seat racer Price - Prices start at £79,950. The Mono was designed by Cheshire-born bros Neill and Ian Briggs in an attempt to dispense formula levels of performance for 'enthusiasts'. The stats are thus: 0-62mph takes 2.8 seconds, 0-100mph takes 6.7 seconds, top speed is 170mph and power-to-weight sits at 520bhp per tonne.
It gets a 280bhp 2.3-litre Cossie four-pot mounted longitudinally, a six-speed paddle shift 'box (50 millisecond shifts), a limited slip diff and push rod suspension featuring adjustable dampers. Brakes come courtesy of AP Racing, wheels are OZ Racing and there's even a detachable steering wheel. Which should make fun post-commute conversations.
If you think, 'yeah, another track car', both have worked for Porsche, Merc and Ford. So there. And despite its F3 car dimensions and single-seat layout, Bac assures us it is actually usable for the road.
